Personality

Iris is a generally outgoing, friendly, and courteous person who cares deeply for his tribe and sister; as well as the Eagles of their tribe. He is the type who is highly adventurous and will not pass up any opportunity he gets to travel, even taking up a courier occupation due to this, which also gives his Eagle partner Aika the chance to fly as much as she can.
As adventurous as he is, Iris is also highly cautious and doesn’t trust easily in knowing that due to his bloodline and status as a Gifted that he is one who is coveted, and so he can give off an air that he is trusting someone but is very wary of the individual. Despite his cautious nature, he sees no harm in being open about him being from a Beast Tamer tribe or being a Gifted of S-Class. To him, it's nothing to be ashamed of and he sees little reason to hide this. After all, who can live their best life hiding in the shadows? Life is meant to be lived to him, freely and openly.
Like many others who live on the surface, Iris too thinks ill of those that live amongst the clouds in the cities above, even going so far as to make snide remarks in return if someone on the surface praises them. His disdain and strong opinions go further than the general dislike of the citizens above haughty natures and attitudes or their covetous and greedy views on those of his and other Tamer tribes & clans, his disdain is rooted in their repeated attempts of many of their citizens trying to take his sister’s hand in unwanted marriage and then telling Primrose immediately that she cannot take her own Eagle partner with her due to surface creatures being "gross and disgusting stains from below."
Iris is a very loyal person, as well as protective of those his loyalties are towards, but he does not extend this towards everyone else. In fact, unless he feels it’s Very Wrong or involving the floating cities, he often overlooks things so that he does not bring his own people or himself harm; something he's learned over his years and having accidentally almost caused his tribe's destruction when he had led someone he thought was injured and innocent into their territory only to find this was not the case, causing him to become more guarded and restricting in his loyalties. To people on the outside looking in, he can appear selfish due to this.
Guarded loyalties aside, his curiosity still is strong and can become his undoing if not reigned in by someone to be the voice of reason so he doesn’t get himself in more trouble than he can handle.
Iris is also very confident in his abilities, intelligence, and even his mutations. He has even been a bit cocky and overconfident about them, especially if it was towards the people in the cities above just to run his mouth at them because of how much they were acting better than others, something that doesn’t sit well with him due to his upbringing in a community where everyone has their own unique place and role to keep the community working in harmony.

History

Iris was born in [village name] as a Gifted with S Classed Atomos and B Classed Levitation mutations, along with his village's Hereditary Mutation of Beast Taming; as well as being the younger twin brother of Primrose Alfel who also was born Gifted with S+ Classed Healing and B- Classed Birdsight Mutation as well as the same Beast Taming as Iris. The twins' mother was the leader of the village and took care of most matters when it came to outsiders. As a result, Iris grew up somewhat sheltered to the goings-on about life outside of the land his people occupied, growing restless and more curious about the outside world. When he was about the age of two, he was able to Bond with an Eagle chick, who he called Aika and the two were inseparable ever since that; forming near-perfect communication with one another.
All of that curiosity about the world outside would come to bite him in the behind later, when he was in his early teens and started venturing out with his bonded Eagle partner, Aika; trusting too easily and leading someone he thought was injured back to the village and getting some people killed as a result of his naive actions. Many others were injured. He would come to learn that not everyone could be trusted nor was everyone as community driven as his people, and that there were people that coveted what his people could do with their birds.
Iris also learned that due to his peoples' bloodline, coupled with his sister's Healing ability, the people above in cities like Caelum and others would do anything they could to take his sister from the surface. This was something he took issue with, especially when he overheard one conversation about how the Eagles were considered "disgusting surface creatures", infuriating him and leading him to form many negative opinions of the people above, regardless of who they were due to similar behaviours. His dislike was even directed to those that kissed up to the Sky City inhabitants, making remarks under his breath about them.
Iris learned young that with his lighting abilities, he could hurt people if he wasn't careful, accidentally injuring his sister while trying something new. He also found at the same time that he could use metal to channel the lightning into for any fights, and began wearing more and more metal bracelets as well as carrying a metal whip on him that he learned to fight with. He also learned that his lighting could be dangerous to him, having one time overused his abilities, nearly getting himself killed after letting off powerful attacks without resting; earning him a lecture from both his sister and his father, promising he would never do it again unless absolutely necessary.
At the age of 17, Iris was finally able to venture out of his village on his own and take on jobs of his choice, much to his delight. Even more exciting to him was when he learned about a need for a courier that could travel over long distances and deliver packages or people in some cases, immediately signing himself up and getting the job for it. For the next few years, he would go to all sorts of places and see many new places and meet new people, gaining a new perspective on the world. Both negative and positive alike, especially when he would deliver up to the Sky Cities and see that many of them had the various Winged mutations. Though these weren't hereditary, as far as he knew, they were much more common above than below.
At the age of 22, much to Iris' disdain, he saw that his sister had caught the eye of one of the sons of Caelum's governors and pressed her about marrying him. This kept up for two years until one night Primrose was taken against her will while she was hunting, with Iris only noticing on a flight back home to hear her yelling profanities at the man to let her go. Immediately alerting their mother, Iris took off before anyone could stop him on Aika as he furiously chased after the captors before making a stop for supplies. With the help of a few friends he knew were nearby, Iris and crew made their way to Caelum to get Primrose back with Primrose's Eagle, Uri, flying close behind so that Aika wouldn't be slowed down with more than three people on her back.
Upon arriving in Caelum the next morning, due to a long flight, Iris and company made their way to a customer of Iris's that he trusted; one of the very few Sky City people he didn’t outright hate, although this is due to the woman being a high-paying customer who didn't look down on Aika as something disgusting. She gave them lodgings and information about where Primrose had been taken, and that it was guarded so they would need to plan carefully. The rescue took place a week later, after managing to sneak into the home of the man that kidnapped Primrose.
Although furious, Iris did not kill anyone and instead knocked them out, due to that drawing more attention than necessary, instead opting to sneak Primrose out under cover of darkness. Fortune barely favoured them as it had been a cloudy night, and the cloud cover was quickly clearing to reveal a full moon that would get them seen. A chase ensued once Primrose was discovered missing, however the eagles were too fast for those that had Winged mutations, making it home safely after two days due to taking a detour to throw the pursuers off.

Aika: A large eagle by the name of Aika. She is Iris' Bonded companion via the Hereditary Beast Taming mutation. She is able to breathe fire, similarly to Dragons. (Word of Creator: These Eagle species, among others, will, in tens of thousands of years, become what we know of as Fantasy Dragons. They do not exist, yet, in this world.)
Twin Daggers: Iris owns a pair of daggers that he keeps on his person at all times, which he uses to channel his electricity into in a fight.
Metal Whip: This is Iris' favoured weapon and method of fighting. It looks identical to the one in his appearance image.
Metal bracelets, anklets, necklaces: Iris keeps this type of jewelry on for more than just aesthetic reasons: they're also good with conducting his electricity into attacks or to zap people that touch him.
Herbs/Medicine Pouch: A gift from his sister, Iris uses this pouch to carry medicine and various herbs in case he's injured on a job and away from his twin. It will occasionally be used for food instead of what Primrose gave it to him for.
Fur cloak: Made of a heavy cloth and a fur trim, Iris wears this when he goes to colder areas or when he sleeps in the wilderness, using it in place of a blanket.
Leather side bag: Large leather bag full of various goods or foods that don't spoil quickly. (Items included: dried meats/jerky, dried fruits, crackers, cheese, and bread for food. Matches, flashlight, pens, and leather notebook for non-food.)
Astronomical Map: Located within his leather notebook, there's a map of the stars within it, mapping out the constellations for night travel.

Abilities, detailed

Mutation
° Beast Taming. Hereditary Class: "The only known Hereditary type "Mutation", Beast Taming was once classified as an actual mutation until it was found that more and more people with this ended up passing it down to their offspring, and as such has become the only known Mutation to be hereditary rather than a lottery of what will be obtained. Beast Taming, as the name implies, grants the user to bond with an animal partner (only one) at a young age as well as when the animal is at a young age. Both animal and human partners have near perfect communication with one another. Notable animal taming clans/tribes that exist are Eagle and Lynx tribes of the once Pacific Northwest region of the ancient North America."

• Basically everything that it says on the tin. Iris is able to do that, and is bonded with a large Eagle by the name of Aika, who can breathe and manipulate fire. (He is only able to bond with her and no others in this manner.)

° Atomos. Lightning Elemental S-Class: "The user is granted the ability to manifest lightning from their body and their surroundings. Depending upon Class, the user is capable of devastating blasts of multiple multidirectional lightning strikes. This also makes the user faster due to the electrical currents within them. Immune to lightning and can absorb natural lightning when struck. When using the lightning, the user's eyes glow a light teal."

• Iris can utilize lightning in all forms being S-Classed Atomos, ranging from small shocks to powerful bolts of electricity. He generally will use the lightning channeled into the metal whip he has, knives, or various metal bracelets and anklets on his person in close combat fighting.

• With Iris being a natural S-Classed Atomos user, he is able to perform all of that mentioned above. He has various "spells" at his command ranging from simple static shocks all the way to a "finale" one known as the Rain of the Cosmos where he summons a lightning storm full of lightning that rains down on a foe. It was given this name due to it looking like the cosmos themselves had begun to rain down in an array of rainbow lightning, as well as the user's entire body glowing a faint purple with their eyes glowing teal. The drawback and recoil of this finale ability is that it has the potential to be fatal to himself as well as the enemy(s) depending on how exhausted he is and if he's grounded into the earth or not. It is not a skill he uses regularly, and has only used it a grand total of two times, both of which incapacitated him for up to a week, nearly killing him the second time. (I don't see him using this finale skill except as a last ditch effort if he's backed against a wall, literal or figurative.)

• In short bursts, Iris is able to move at literal lightning speeds in a flash of light to another location within vision, however he can't just flash over to the top of that mountain in the distance. It's a quick, speedy dodge or disorienting an opponent being in one place one second, and another 50 - 300 some-odd feet (15.24 - 91.44M) away the next. It does take energy and the longer the distance, the more draining it is. Using the gravitational force he can manipulate makes it drain less, but he'll still be winded if it's past 500ft (152.4M).

° Levitation. Gravitational B-Class: "The user can manipulate gravitational forces around them to be weightless. It makes the user naturally lighter on their feet."
• Being a gravity based mutation, Iris is able to make himself weightless and float in addition to what is described above. Floating abilities with Levitation are a B-Class skill, as this is the highest tier the mutation can achieve. He cannot fly with this, but he can do such things as manipulate how hard/fast he falls or glide a short distance. Hovering around is something that costs almost no energy for him to do.

• Using the gravitational force, Iris can increase or decrease his speed.
Non-Mutation
High agility: Coupled with his mutations, Iris naturally has high agility, being able to dodge a lot easier and hit quicker.
Whip proficiency: Iris's main weapons are metal whips, which allow him to deal Lightning damage if he channels it into them.
Knife proficiency: Iris uses these knives for both close combat if needed, as well as using them for various crafting and survival needs.
Survival skills: Examples of such include, but not limited to: cooking, hunting & fishing/trapping, first aid, knot tying, etc.
Crafting: Weaving/Sewing by hand, skinning/leatherworking, mapmaking.
Identifying toxins: Iris is able to identify toxins, be they flora or fauna, having lived in a forest village for his whole life and with his job.
Close combat: Learned as a way to defend himself if fully alone as to not be a target, and prefers to fight up close.

The majority of life on Earth, now known as Terra by its inhabitants, has begun adapting in ways to survive a harsher environment in the aftermath of a chaotic change. While many of these changed, some also retained their original life as well, having grown hardier while some split and evolved further to be another subspecies of the original things. Species previously thought to be extinct even have seemingly resurrected themselves from extinction. (Also known as Lazarus species, or Lazarus Taxa/Taxon.) Many species have either evolved further or appear to have de-evolved into what they adapted from in the ancient past.
The climate has changed dramatically, with sea levels having risen, driving the species too weak to adapt into extinction. While the climate has warmed and the Antarctic continent became habitable, the world still faces harsh winters.
(Creator note: All species listed in that link have come back over time.)

Although not an exhaustive list, this lists some examples of major species change over the course of 2500 years.

➤ Trees: Trees of all kinds began to develop harder and sturdier bark and wood, although many old species that survived the war and chaos have remained nearly the same since ancient times, only growing larger.
➤ Carnivorous Plants: Perhaps one of the biggest changes to plantlife, these dangerous plants have grown much larger and attract small to medium sized animals, and will even be able to devour a small human child. Most notably, the spines on some of these plants have become sharper. However, they are also easy to spot, and remain stationary just like their ancestors.

➤ Birds: Many bird species have split in evolution and grown over time to become massive, terrifying, birds that grew to become fierce hunters during the time where animal life boomed with Humanity's temporary disappearance. Even some prey species became hunters themselves as they found themselves growing large. Various species now obtain some sort of elemental affinity to better protect themselves against the ever-evolving world around them.
➤ Sea Life: Most known sea life remained mostly unchanged outside of populations being restored. Due to how little was already known about it, the greatest change was the emergence of enormous sea serpents, however many whale species have appeared to shrink in size though by how much is dependent on the species. Some species have begun to devolve to what was seen in prehistoric eras.

Mutations

(While this is a WIP as I go through and add varying Mutations over time, the basics of the system are set)
Mutation Classes

Classes, or Rank, of Mutation are ranked on letter rankings. These are used in determining the level and power of the mutation one is born with and is recorded at birth. A person’s mutation class is indeterminate of their social and political standing for the most part, although there is some discrimination of Gifted and Ungifted, but this is mostly seen in the flying cities or surface cities trying to little or no avail to please those in the flying cities.

Mutation classes CANNOT be ranked up, they are set, although the ranges within these levels of ability vary widely within their own letter ranking.
Example: An A+ can potentially be mistaken for an S- or an A. Not all A+ will be the same strength, but all are relatively similar within their rank.

➤ S-, S, S+: S-Classed Mutations are the highest ranked and included among the Gifted levels of Mutations. S+ comprises the highest of all Mutations at their fullest abilities. Some, rare few, are always designated S+ immediately upon finding them out (example being Healing). S-Classed Mutations are ALWAYS put into Primary.
➤ A-, A, A+: A-Classed Mutations are exceptionally high and A- is the beginning of where one is called a Gifted with their Mutation. Those who have A-Classed Mutations have the above average use and skill of their given mutations, being exceptionally talented. Some Mutations can only go up as high as A+, and are ALWAYS put into Primary.
➤ B-, B, B+: Highest ranked of the Ungifted, or general population. Those who have B-Classed Mutations have the average use and skill of their given mutations. Some Mutations can only go up as high as B+, and are either Primary OR Secondary.
➤ C-, C, C+: Middle ranked of the Ungifted, or general population. Those who have C-Classed Mutations have the average/just below average use and skill of their given mutations. Some Mutations can only go up as high as C+, and are generally considered as Secondary with some exceptions.
➤ D-, D, D+: Lowest ranked of the Ungifted, or general population. Those who have D-Classed Mutations are those with the lowest power skill of their given mutation. Some Mutations can only go up as high as D+, and are always considered as Secondary.

➤ Unhinged: While not a technical Class, and more of a designation The Unhinged are those whose mutations did not harmonise and thus caused the individual at some point in their life to be so chaotically unbalanced that they lost control of themselves. An unfortunate phenomena, but one that does happen, although it is not as common as one would think, but still happening enough for it to not be unheard of. It is not a guarantee that one will become an Unhinged if they have an imbalance in their mutations, but the risk will always be there and remain for their entire lives.

Mutation Types

➤ Primary: The Primary Mutation an individual will have. If one is Gifted, this is where that would manifest in as it would be the stronger of the Mutations.
➤ Secondary: The Secondary, and sometimes Tertiary if one does not have an A-S Class, mutation listed in an individual’s abilities. Secondary Mutations often provide a balance or harmony to a Primary Mutation, preventing a chaotic imbalance generally, although this isn’t always the case. Secondaries are never Gifted.
➤ Cosmetic: Fairly self-explanatory, Cosmetic Mutations are those that do not grant a power or enhance any senses, but are just aesthetic in nature. Examples being a seeming lack of pupils in eyes or pupils being a similar or different colour to one’s eye, retractable nails, markings, horns, pointed ears, etc... There are no limits to how many cosmetic mutations can appear at birth.

Mutation Classifications

All Mutations have a classification they are ordered into, as seen below with mutations listed:

Hereditary

These mutation types are 100% guaranteed to be passed down to descendants and do not take up a classic primary or secondary mutation slot. This type of mutation is highly coveted as it functions separately from other mutations due to being genetic. Hereditary types are only found among clans or tribes which have these, unless the member has ventured out from their clan or tribe. Hereditary Mutation types are also considered the next step in human evolution, as they are and evolution of an existing Mutation. These specific types are often sought after, being rare and considered valuable, and people are willing to do almost anything to get their hands on individuals with these types.

➤ Beast Taming: The only known (ooc: at the moment) Hereditary type "Mutation", Beast Taming was once classified as an actual mutation until it was found that more and more people with this ended up passing it down to their offspring, and as such has become the only known Mutation to be hereditary rather than a lottery of what will be obtained. Beast Taming, as the name implies, grants the user to bond with an animal partner (only one) at a young age as well as when the animal is at a young age. Depending upon Class, the user is capable of devastating blasts of multiple multidirectional lightning strikes. This also makes the user faster due to the electrical currents within them. Immune to lightning and can absorb natural lightning when struck. When using the lightning, the user's eyes glow a light teal.
➤ Tundra (Ice): The user is able to manifest ice from their body and can even create ice storms, ranging from hail to blizzards depending on Class. Immune to all forms of cold.
➤ Hurricos (Wind): The user is able to manifest wind from their body and can even create devastating wind attacks like tornadoes on a large scale to powerful slicing winds that can pierce and cut the foes if focused in a condensed wave depending on their Class. Immune to wind chill.
➤ Vulcanus (Fire): The user can manifest flames from within their bodies, and can produce fires hot enough to turn things to ashes. Some S+ users have been rumoured to create lightning with their fires, but that's due to their flames being white-hot and channeled into thin fire-like whisps that look like lightning. Immune to all forms of heat and cannot be burned.

Visual

Users of this Mutation are gifted with extraordinary vision and vision based skills. Ranges from C- to a very rare A- in their rankings & skill.

Auditory

The user has better hearing or vocal skills. Ranges from D- to B+ in their rankings & skill.

➤ Enhanced Hearing: Allows the user to have enhanced hearing, able to hear the smallest and quietest of sounds
➤ Siren's Call: Allows the user to lure others via song or speech.
➤ Booming Voice: The user is able to project their voice over a long distance and be heard clearly, up to a mile (1.6km) away.
➤ Mutation: Description

Regenerative

Almost always an S-Class mutation, this type of mutation revolves around healing, whether it be to oneself or others. The lowest this Mutation can be is A- and is always Gifted.

➤ Healing: The user is granted the ability to heal others' injuries with their own energy without the aid of medicine. The greater the injury or wound, the more energy it takes from the user. Cannot resurrect the Dead, but can revive if the victim has been "gone" for under 10 minutes, but this takes multiple healers to do so. They cannot heal themselves, it would take another healer to heal them.
➤ Regeneration: The user is granted the ability to self-heal, being able to regenerate even their worst wounds to an extent. However, if a wound is potentially fatal, there's no guarantee they'll heal at all. For example: there's no coming back from decapitation or midsection missing a sizeable chunk. The worse a wound is, the longer it takes to heal, even with a faster healing ability. Cannot heal others.

Winged

Users with Winged mutations have functional wings generally sprouting from their backs. Most often is a Secondary mutation despite all being B-Classed. Usually, but not always, seen above in the flying cities. While not all Winged mutations are exactly like the four listed below, they are an example of what they could be like.

➤ Raven: The user is born with black or dark coloured, feathered, wings that grant the ability of flight.
➤ Faerie: The user is born with wings insect-like wings that are fairy-like wings that grant the ability of flight.
➤ Angel: The user is born with pure white or light coloured, feathered, wings that grant the ability of flight.
➤ Demon: The user is born with leathery wings of any colour that are bat-like wings that grant the ability of flight.

Transformation

Users are able to transform partly or even fully into an object, or more commonly, a living being.

➤ Wolf’s Howl: Can transform into a direwolf, and gets all the physical attributes as a result. In normal form, they will keep their ears, tail, and fangs. They have a sharpened sense of hearing, smelling, and sight even in their human forms.

World History

An alternate Earth where tensions never were quelled after WWII
Timeline of Important Events

Pre-1947: Human and Earth history play out exactly the same with very minor differences unnecessary to list. Example being that up to and during WWII, combatants were far more aggressive and instigated more conflict than necessary during the war but otherwise historically the same throughout Human history. Allies won the war etc, etc. The timeline significantly shifts after WWII.

1947: Cold War begins, tensions arise even further post WWII. World powers cannot come to agreements and conflicts re-erupt after about ten years of very unstable and unsuccessful peace talks. Scientists, in secret, all gather to begin discussing how to prepare for the worst and what is needed to protect humanity should the worst happen.

1957: Nuclear arms race officially begins and accelerates far faster than anyone anticipated. Technological advancements increase rapidly. Notable examples include cellular phones, internet, etc...

1991: Theorized as the "Point of No Return" by historians, many scientists of all fields, doctors, and scholar-type peoples are gathered en masse to preserve current history and to protect it into the future as a failsafe for future generations. These people, as well as their families and some others who have special skills, are gathered around the world to various bunkers all in communication with one another to continue research and historical records in the case of global calamity. These bunkers are tactically located in places safest from tectonic shifting and volcanic activities.

2000: Full out war re-erupts and a Nuclear Winter is caused, causing the world’s events to "spiral" out of control in chaos. This marks the undoing of modern humanity as we know it.

2000-2100: Cataclysmic natural disasters erupt one after the other, wiping out a vast majority of humanity that remains. Those remaining in the bunkers have mostly survived, continuing their work to record and preserve history, even as these disasters unfold. Every bunker remains in contact with the other.

2150: The world itself settles after being rocked by disaster after disaster in succession. Geographically, Earth sees a dramatic change due to all of these disasters. Any and all communication with the surface is cut off and lost, only a few drones from the underground bunkers remain to document the surface. Nothing but grim footage is recorded. Surprisingly, some animals have rapidly advanced and survived. This year is noted as the extinction of Humanity on the surface, none are known to be left alive. Any who did survive fled to mountains that had not erupted and found ways to cultivate life there, but no documented proof of this has been recorded.

2250: Another set of drones are sent out, but instead of grim findings, the recordings show that life has begun to flourish once more. Ruins of now abandoned and empty cities are recorded to be grown over with mosses and grasses, with once famed historical landmarks and buildings crumbling due to lack of upkeep. Although the Earth has begun to heal, the left behind wreckage and reminders of the past are still fresh reminders of the near mass extinction of the Human Race save for those who remained in the bunkers. Flora and fauna are not quite as those remaining remember, but are still similar enough in nature and appearance to still be recognisable. Communications between the bunkers begin discussions of returning to the surface to restart life, but this time in unity opposed to their grim mistakes of the past that led to their near annihilation. Preparations begin for returning to the surface.

2300: Humanity has now returned to the surface, although the bunkers remain operational should any future need arise for their usage once again in any emergency. Some remain behind to perform maintenance routinely on these places, as well as beginning the creation of flying cities that had blueprints made by those in the past with adapted technology due to the rapid growth and increase during Humanity's prior existence.

2350: Emergence of "strange" abilities has begun to be recorded among people, mutations that are known as Gifts ranging from minor things such as enhanced hearing, to others like being resistant to fire. Very early on these mutations were uncommon and even the minor ones were seen as extraordinary. At some point before this, Earth was being more commonly referred to as Terra, the latin name for the planet; as well as the Moon being now referred to as Luna, although Moon is still commonly used among various groups.

2500: The very first successful flying city is built and operational, given the name "Caelum", which is Latin for "sky". Over the next century, other such cities would rise and house peoples within them. Many chose to remain on the surface, having grown accustomed to their surroundings. Many more Gifts appear in stronger waves and varying degrees. Those born with powerful manifestations of these mutations are now known as The Gifted, while those who have regular levels of them are seen as normal. Those without mutations are seen as strange, as non-mutations have become almost nonexistent.

2700: Non-mutations no longer exist, all people now are born with mutations regardless of how potent or mundane they may be. However, a new and alarming issue has begun to arise: Those whose mutations have gone haywire and do not mesh or blend harmoniously. These peoples are called the Unhinged. Mutations are documented even more closely than before and research into what makes one an Unhinged is started, and found that certain mutations clash so heavily that the risk of them going out of control is more likely; although not guaranteed.

2800-2900: One mutation in particular is now found to have evolved into something even more, a genetic and hereditary "advancement". The only one known thus far being an evolution of some who possessed the ability to communicate with animals, which has become one now that is a deeper connection but to one animal partner in particular. This has been found in communities who live away from most other settlements and have become clan or tribal-like peoples. Over this study, it is found that this is a 100% guarantee to be passed down to offspring. This mutation is considered extremely special in the fact that it no longer takes up a "mutation slot" and is just a natural part of those that are born with it.

3000: The inhabitants of the flying cities have become more distant and prejudiced towards those that do not live there. They have also become more discriminatory to those that are not Gifted, forcing them either out of those cities or into indentured servitude with only enough pay to survive in the cities. These flying city peoples have also grown to become covetous of those who have the hereditary gifts, seeing them as precious and treasured Gifted or not as these individuals are seen as more precious than Gifteds. Being Gifted, to them, is only a bonus and further increases "value".

3000-4500: Civilization grows as do mutations. Surface and Flying city tensions and biases continue to grow, many on the surface grow to hate and sometimes even fear those from above, while some others grow to make some arrangements of some form of truce-like treaty to keep in the good graces of these cities. Every city has its own independent governing, but it is widely accepted that Caelum is the capital of all of the Sky Cities, despite fully independent governings.

4500: Present Day life going on as usual.
